Twin Cities Pride Art Show Artists Announced
MINNEAPOLIS, May 21— Twin Cities Pride and The Art Institutes International Minnesota are pleased to announce that the work of 16 local artisans will be featured in the 2010 Twin Cities Pride Art Show on June 10 hosted by The Art Institutes International Minnesota located at 15 S 9th Street in downtown Minneapolis. The event is free to the public.
The exhibition is dedicated to supporting and showcasing the work of visual artists from across the region. Over 30 artisans submitted nearly 100 pieces for the jury to consider for the exhibition. It made the selection process of exhibitors very difficult. Artists selected by a five member jury of faculty and staff with backgrounds in the visual arts to be featured in the exhibition include:
Chris Anderson
Dixon Bordiano
Marc DeBauch
Natalie Gallagher
Kurt Hippauf
Jim Kelley
Katrina Knutson
Drake McDougall
Mark McNally
Larry Miller
Janelle Olson
Michael Quernemoen
George Roedler (G3)
David Rubedor
Clyde Valentine
Jason Wermager
The Twin Cities Pride Art Show is held in conjunction with The Twin Cities Pride Grand Marshal Reception featuring hors d’oeuvres and desserts prepared by Green Mangos Catering, wine from Barefoot Wine, beer from Samuel Adams and live jazz by Jazz Front Trio. Awards for BEST IN SHOW will be announced during the awards presentation to be held at 6:30 PM.
Winners will have their work displayed in the History Pavilion during the 2010 Twin Cities Pride Festival to be held June 26-27 at Loring Park. The artist whose work is recognized as the top piece of art will be featured in the 2011 Twin Cities Pride Art Show and will be eligible for a solo exhibition during the 2011-2012 season in The Art Institutes International Minnesota Art Gallery.
Thank you to all artists who submitted work for the jury process. The strength of the work submitted ultimately made it all the harder for the jury to come to the ultimate result.
